Senior Procurement Officer (Construction)


The National Housing Trust is seeking to employ a Senior Procurement Officer for its Procurement & Stores-Treasury Management Department. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the integrity of the procurement process for Construction and Development.


Main Duties

Reporting to the Manager, Procurement and Stores, the main responsibilities of the Procurement Officer include:

  • Managing the Tender Process
  • Preparing tender documents soliciting bids for construction related activities
  • Evaluating tenders and making relevant submissions
  • Attending procurement meetings
  • Preparing internal and external management reports
  • Supervising the staff in the Procurement and Stores Unit



The ideal candidate must have:

  • A BSc. in business Administration or its equivalent from a recognised institution
  • A diploma/certificate in Engineering
  • Four years experience in the purchasing and procurement field of which 2 years should be at the supervisory level
  • Sound knowledge of:

            - GOJ Procurement Guidelines and statutory requirements specific to procurement issues

            - Construction materials and requirements

            - Microsoft Suite and Database Management

  • Customer service and interpersonal


The following would be an asset:

  • Training in Project Management
